clikrf8 > Death Valley Days in B&W on TV in the 50s looked nothing like this. Mosaic Canyon is a short bumpy drive into the hills near Stovepipe Wells. It was 115 degrees in the shade at 2 pm. The canyon wound its way upward narrowing at time to a single file trail with walls close by on both sides. This is a view looking north from the mouth of the canyon.

This is a view from the beginning of Artists Drive, a one way drive through a pastel palette of pink, mint green, powder blue, lavender, ochre, gold, black and others.

clikrf8 > The famed Stovepipe Wells Sand Dunes. This is an early morning capture. I wanted to get closer but didn't want to chance an encounter with a sidewinder.
