Island County consists of Whidbey and Camano Islands, and seven smaller islands (Baby, Ben Ure, Deception, Kalamut, Minor, Smith, and Strawberry) and parts of Fidalgo Island. You can see vestiges of its farming heritage but small family farms are being replaced by housing developments. It is blessed with numerous lakes, many miles of saltwater shoreline and small mountains but no rivers.
