The town of Bodie, California grew from a gold discovery in the early 1860s. Once populated by 10,000 hardy souls (winters are harsh at 9,000 feet), Bodie is now the best preserved ghost town in California. Now part of the California State Parks system, it is preserved in a state of "arrested decay". This old hotel is listing towards collapse.
